Wigan & Leigh Hospice Christmas Tree Collection returns

Wigan & Leigh Hospice has announced the return of its popular Christmas tree collection service, running from Monday 12 January to Wednesday 14 January 2026.
This hassle-free scheme means you can wave goodbye to pine needles and queues at the tip - while making a real difference to local families. Simply register your tree, make a donation, and the hospice's amazing volunteers will collect your tree and recycle it for you.
Lindsey Butler, Fundraising and Community Engagement Manager, at Wigan & Leigh Hospice, said: "This is one of our favourite campaigns because it's such a win-win for everyone. Last year, thanks to incredible community support, we collected 500 trees and raised £11,000. Every penny helps us provide care for people with life-limiting illnesses - and we couldn't do it without the amazing community that we have here in Wigan and Leigh."
Your donation, big or small, will make a huge impact, because the hospice needs £18,500 every day to keep its services running - and £12,000 of that must be raised through fundraising. This campaign is a vital part of that effort.
How to take part:
- Register on the Just Helping website by 11:59pm on Wednesday 7 January 2026.
- Remove decorations, pots, and bases before collection.
- Leave your tree in a clear, visible spot outside your house by 8am on collection day.
