Body found in search for missing man from Wigan

Police say they have found a body in their search for David Edmonds, just over a week after he went missing from the Bodmin Drive area of Platt Bridge.

Over the last seven days, officers have searched the Platt Bridge and surrounding areas, with multiple specialist resources being deployed to aid the ongoing efforts.

However, today, Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that they have found his body near Horrocks Flash.

It's understood the discovery was made in the water near the lake on Wednesday.

Specialist officers are providing support to Mr Edmonds' family.
